You get an agreed arrival time, and the crew calls again when they are half an hour out so you are not watching the street.
The same crew both ends
The crew that loads is the crew that unloads. Anything taken apart to clear a doorway is reassembled at the other end by the same hands.
Finished the same day
A local Bronx move is done the same day. The plan made before the date is what keeps it from running late.
From the Grand Concourse to a Riverdale House
The Bronx has more range in housing than people expect, and each kind of building sets a different job.
The big prewar buildings along the Grand Concourse and through Kingsbridge often have an elevator, which helps, but they also want a certificate of insurance on file and a reserved elevator window, the same as any managed building in the city. The walk-ups are about the stairs, where the cost is per trip and the landing turn decides what comes apart. On the two- and three-family blocks the variable is parking and the carry from wherever the truck can legally stand.
Up in Riverdale and Fieldston it shifts again toward private houses, often with more volume, a basement, and a garage, which means the truck and the crew have to be sized to the actual contents. We look at all of it before we quote so the day is planned, not improvised.

We move across Riverdale, Kingsbridge, Fordham, Belmont, the Grand Concourse, Mott Haven, Morris Park, Pelham Bay, Throggs Neck, Parkchester, Country Club, and the rest of the borough. A Concourse prewar building and a Throggs Neck two-family are different days, and the quote comes from the building and the access, not the name of the neighborhood.

Do you move walk-ups and prewar buildings in the Bronx?
Yes, that is a lot of the borough. A Bronx walk-up is stairs and a landing turn, and the cost of stairs is per trip, so the floor is the first thing we ask about. Anything that will not make the turn comes apart at the top of the stairs and is put back together at the other end by the same crew.
Do you charge extra for stairs in the Bronx?
Stairs are part of what the day is made of, so they are in the number you get before you book, not a surcharge that shows up later. A second-floor two-family and a fifth-floor walk-up are different jobs and we quote them that way.
How is parking handled on a Bronx block?
Where the truck can stand decides the carry, and that varies a lot across the Bronx, from the row-house blocks to the big prewar buildings on the Grand Concourse. We plan the truck around your street so the carry is as short as it can be, and that distance is in the quote instead of a surprise.
Do you handle certificates of insurance for Bronx elevator buildings?
Yes. The managed elevator buildings, including a lot of the Concourse and Riverdale buildings, want a certificate of insurance naming the building before a crew comes up. Send us the requirements and the managing agent's contact when you book and we handle it ahead of the date.
How far in advance should I book a Bronx move?
Usually four to seven days. Book earlier at the end of the month, and earlier still if your building requires a reserved elevator window, since that is the longest lead time.
